Nalanda: As part of his Pragati Yatra, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar arrived in his home district, Nalanda, to a grand welcome. Living up to public expectations, the CM inaugurated and laid the foundation for several major development projects. He inaugurated 177 projects worth ₹3.61 billion and laid the foundation stone for 86 projects valued at ₹4.59 billion. In total, he inaugurated and launched 263 projects, amounting to a whopping ₹8.20 billion.
During his Pragati Yatra, CM Nitish Kumar first visited Nand village in Silao block, where he inspected various development projects. He then proceeded to the Mohanpur hatchery, where he distributed fish seeds among Bihar’s fish farmers. He also visited the Bidding Pool, examining the fish stock and hatchery eggs. Later, in Rajgir, he inaugurated a newly constructed passenger shed at the Brahma Kund complex, built by the tourism department.
Panda Committee Secretary Vikas Upadhyay shared that the inauguration was conducted with full rituals, including prayers and shankh (conch) sounds. He emphasized that the absence of a proper passenger shed in the Kund area had been causing significant inconvenience to pilgrims, but this new facility would now provide much-needed relief.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated several educational infrastructure projects, including the Barasiya Plus Two School in Ekangarsarai, a 100-bed Kasturba Gandhi Plus Two School girls’ hostel in Rajgir, Bind, Hilsa, and Ekangarsarai, as well as a new school building for Baburbanna Plus Two School in Parwalpur.
