Daltonganj, April 25: Palamu police held a poster campaign against absconding extremists in Palamu on Monday. Police officers from the respective police stations pasted these posters in public or crowded areas so that the public can see them.
“The Chainpur police in Palamu recently did this poster campaign against absconding extremists. We try to tell the commoners how beneficial it is for the naxals to surrender, as there lies a new world for them then,” said the officer in charge, Uday Kr Gupta.
Sanjay Anand Lathkar, Additional Director General of police operations in the Jharkhand government, stated, “There is a monetary provision for such posters such as against absconding extremists or awareness about the benefit of the extremists surrendering to law.”
The government of India gives fund for it. ADG police Ops Lathkar agreed that now people have little time to have a look at posters.
“There was a time when children and teenagers used to follow the man who used to paste film posters on the walls across the roads,” he said.

“We are trying to make an outreach with people or family which can convince or motivate absconding extremists to surrender and reap the benefits of the surrender package of Jharkhand which is by far the most advantageous to the naxals and their families,” Palamu SP Chandan Kumar Sinha said.
“Our boys are pasting it at conspicuous places for larger viewership,” he added.
The absconding extremists carry reward ranging from Rs one lakh to even Rs 25 lakh. Commoners have been tempted to inform police in getting these wanted absconding extremists assuring them of the reward in full that these absconding extremists carry on their heads. As usual police promise 100 percent confidentiality of the identity of the man who so helps the police to cath the extremist.
