Daltonganj, December 1: Chhaterpur police in Palamu on Thursday remanded a CPI Maoist Narayan Yadav in judicial custody who was caught on Wednesday.
SDPO Chhaterpur Ajay Kumar has confirmed this stating that the Maoist was out on bail.
Yadav has a total of nine cases against him in police stations including Chhaterpur, Naudeeha Bazaar, Harihurgunj, Pandu and Mohammadgunj.
SDPO Kumar said the Maoist would use his influence as a Maoist and would scare contractors, teachers and traders for levy despite being on bail.
Yadav was a typical case of extremism where on bail the extremist flaunted his past.
Police found a cell phone used in making levy calls. Yadav’s rendezvous was the Kala Pahar which he used to make levy calls.
SDPO Kumar said that there was no reward for his capture. The police also didn’t recover any weapons or ammunition from him.
Notably, Basanti Devi, wife of Maoist Yadav and her brother Kamlesh Yadav were also jailed this year on charges of depositing levy money through customer service points with the bank. Yadav was evading arrest for long.
