Ranchi, Aug 3: The Personnel Department and the Jharkhand Public Service Commission are set to change the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination Rules, 2021 of the Combined Civil Competitive Examination.
Apart from the rules regarding passing the candidates in the examination, certain provisions provided under reservation may also change.
The Personnel Department has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Higher and Technical Education Department K K Khandelwal to amend the rules, which include Ajay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Finance Department and Food Supplies Secretary Himani Pandey as members. The rules will be amended on the recommendation of the committee.
According to sources, there may be a revision in the number of candidates that are selected to appear in the main examination and interview, based on the number of vacancies.
As per the present rules, the number of candidates selected in the preliminary examination and main examination for the main examination is 15 times the total vacancy, while the candidates selected for the interview are two and a half times the vacancies respectively.
It is mandatory to get a minimum 40 percent marks to pass the preliminary exam. However, candidates of the reserved category get some relaxation in this regard. This rule may also be revised.
Some provisions can also be made regarding the issuance of OMR sheets of preliminary examination on the website. At present, the rule manual states that the commission will try to release the OMR sheet of the preliminary examination on the website. Reservation in Preliminary Examination may also be considered.
However, the expectation of getting a reservation in the preliminary examination is next to negligible.
Notably, the process of the next Combined Civil Services Examination will start only after the amendment in the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination Rules, 2021.
It is worth noting that an amendment has already been made to the rules in the past as well. On the basis of these new rules, the 7th civil services combined examination was held earlier this year.
