Jamshedpur, June 7: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) authority will hold PM Awas Mela at the civic body office premises in Sakchi on June 15.
The move is to facilitate those who were deprived of the opportunity to apply for the one BHK flat being constructed in the fringe Birshanagar locality of the steel city under Prime Minister Awas Yojana.
The aspiring people may turn up at the civic body premises with the necessary documents along with Rs 5,000 and may apply for the residential flats now under construction at Birshanagar.
Any interested person, applying for the PM Awas is required to bring besides the amount of Rs 5,000, a voter’s I-card, proof of yearly income not exceeding Rs 3 lakhs, bank passbook, Aadhaar cards of all the family members and proof of staying at the JNAC area before June 17, 2015.
As per the PM Awas Yojana, in all 9,592 residential flats in G+8-storeyed apartments over 32 blocks are to be constructed at Birshanagar. Of the total planned residential flats, construction for 7,372 flats has already begun.
Though the ambitious residential flats are under construction stage, 3,836 beneficiaries have been allotted the flats in the first phase, 834 beneficiaries were allotted the flats in the second phase and 969 beneficiaries were allotted the same in the third phase.
A civic body source revealed that as many people were not aware of this low-cost PM Awas, the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner, Vijaya Jadhav decided to offer such people one more opportunity to avail the benefits of this popular housing scheme by holding the PM Awas Mela.
