Ranchi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to citizens to buy less gold and save fuel has sparked a political war of words in Jharkhand, with BJP and Congress coming out in sharp opposition against each other.
Congress Attacks PM Modi’s Advice
Jharkhand Congress spokesperson Sonal Shanti launched a pointed attack on PM Modi, saying that after 12 years in power, the government is now advising people to buy less gold and save fuel. She alleged that BJP leaders treat every word of Modi as gospel while remaining completely disconnected from the real problems of ordinary citizens. She sarcastically asked how the public can accept savings advice from leaders who themselves travel in expensive vehicles like Innova, Crysta, Fortuner, and Thar.
BJP Defends PM, Calls Opposition Political
BJP state spokesperson Rafia Naz hit back at Congress, saying PM Modi is speaking in the interest of the nation and economic strengthening. She argued that saving fuel and cutting unnecessary expenditure is simply a matter of civic sense, and accused the opposition of politicising every issue. She said the Prime Minister is encouraging people to become responsible citizens so that the country can grow economically stronger, while Congress statements are entirely politically motivated and hollow.
