Dhanbad, April 18: Union minister of state for power and heavy industry Krishan Pal Gurjar today said that the power crisis in Jharkhand is the failure of the state government as there is no dearth of power in the country.
The minister, who was talking with media persons here at DVC Maithon, around 40 km away from district headquarters, on Monday, said that the nation has enough power. Pay and take power from the national grid is open. So there is no crisis of availability of power. He outrightly denied the allegation that partiality is being done with Jharkhand in providing power supply by the central government
“Power cut in the state is the failure of Jharkhand government. To cover its failure, it is blaming the central government for the crisis,” said the minister.
Krishan Pal Gurjar, who inspected the DVC hydel power plant at Maithon along with Godda BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, Nirsa MLA Aparna Sengupta, said that mission of his visit to DVC Maithon was to assess the momentum of energy generation at the power plant. DVC chairman Ram Naresh Singh was also present with them.
“The country has made a major jump in power generation in the power sector. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, rural and urban areas are getting enough power supply round the clock. The Prime Minister’s main mission is to supply power to every house in the country and in this regard the government is moving,” he claimed.
Gurjar said that DVC is the first public sector of the government of India that generates the highest power in the country.
“Last financial year DVC set a record generation of power with generating 484 million units,” said the minister.
