Ranchi, June 20: The Ranchi University (RU) is set to launch Lecture Theatres throughout colleges in the state. Sources have claimed that the reason behind the decision is the limited number of professors in undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The Lecture Theatre aims to provide classes to students all over the state at one time. Here, professors will be taking classes in online mode, which will have students attending from colleges of RU all over the state.
Ranchi University PRO Pritam said, “The University will be installing smart boards, computers and storage units, which may include a cloud or other apps with larger storage capacity. This will help us reach a large number of students throughout the state with teachers and lectures at a given time.”
Notably, research students will also be helped through this system. The first phase is to see professors of PG to give lectures on several topics of their subjects. RU officials have claimed that the lecture theatre will work to finish the syllabi of the subjects that have a limited number of professors.
The lecture theatre will be conducted in a classroom with projector and smart boards, which will be connected to a cloud application. All colleges of the university will be set up with wifi for this, so that students have the internet available at all times to download material and attend classes.
The classes with the projector will have classes each day on different topics of several subjects. DSW Rajesh Sharma, in this regard said, “This project has been introduced to better implement the NEP 2020 in the university.”
Meanwhile, students of the university have been suffering due to delayed sessions. The session 2019-22 has been delayed, due to which students will be giving the semester five exams by the end of June. As a result, the results will be published by August.
This will also lead to several students not being able to apply for admissions in PG courses in Delhi University and JNU. This is because the admission process for PG courses in the universities has already begun.
Meanwhile, the examination controller Ashish Kumar Jha, in this regard said, “The session has already been delayed and this has also affected the graduation of 2019-22 batch. Even after this, we endeavor to conduct the semester six examination as soon as possible and publish the result.”
