Dhanbad Jan 28: Ten central trade unions have called a two-days nationwide strike on February 22-23 against anti-labour and farmers policy of the central government.
Rashtriya Colliery Mazdoor Sangh (RCMS) general secretary A K Jha today said that the decision of an all India two-day strike was taken at the meeting of ten central trade unions held at New Delhi. Dr G Sanjeeva Reddy, national president of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) and former MP presided the meeting.
Barring Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), the Indian National Trade Union Cong (INTUC), Central Industrial Trade Union (CITU), All India Centre of Trade Unions (AICTU), Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) and other recognized trade unions have endorsed the decision of strike.
Jha said that all 10 central trade unions expressed concern over the anti- labour and farmer policy of the BJP led central government and felt only nationwide strike can stop it from destroying the country.
“Besides the coal industry, all public sectors have been requested to participate in the strike to save the country from mishandling,” said RCMS general secretary.
National president of Rashtriya Khan Mazdoor Federation (RKMF) and RCMS Jaymangal Singh alias Anup Singh has also called on the coal industry of the country to participate in strike in protest against anti-labour and farmers policy of the central government.
In the wake of the two- day nationwide strike, RCMS has called the meeting of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) miners on February 8 to make them aware about the strike and chalk out a strategy for making the agitation successful in the interest of laborers.
