Ramgarh, Oct 13: A two-day national seminar on ‘National Education Policy-2020 Challenges and Prospects’ started at Ramgarh Mahavidyalaya on Thursday.
During the inauguration, floral tributes were offered by the guests to the picture of Mata Saraswati and Acharya Vinoba Bhave. In the accompaniment of the Mandar, the ‘Jhumar’ dance was presented by the students to welcome the guests.
In-charge Principal Dr Rekha Prasad presented the welcome statement to the guests. Ramgarh Mahavidyalaya’s magazine ‘Utkarsh’ and the Souvenir of the seminar were launched by the guests on stage.
The chief guest from Chhattisgarh, Dr Vinay Pathak said: “Our Indian culture has a tradition of discussion and debate, we can understand this from the description of denial in Satyarth Prakash by Swami Dayanand Saraswati. In the new education policy, there is a provision to provide primary education in the mother tongue, so that the society and intelligence of the children can be developed better.”
In the presidential address, Dr Sharda Prasad, Principal of Ramgarh Mahavidyalaya, said, “Difficulties arise at the beginning of any new step, but if we have the spirit to implement it with honest and right thinking, we will definitely be able to prepare an efficient education system in the future.”
The theme of the seminar was highlighted by Dr Ratna Pandey, the organizing secretary of the seminar who said, “Our National Education Policy aims to develop a rational human being. This is a challenging and bold step to improve education in a way.”
Presenting the keynote statement, Dr Mithilesh Kumar Singh, Dean of Humanities and Chancellor of Vinoba Bhave University said that the success of the education policy depends on its successful practical implementation in future. “Imitation always creates a mediocre mindset. Instead of being engaged in the worship of success, we should develop a tendency to respect successes and learn from them, so that instead of self-evaluating from the scale of others, we prepare our own scale.”
As a guest of honour, Dr Ekta Dev, Consultant, UNICEF, said: “Education does not mean just getting a degree, by doing this we create robots, not reflective human beings. The new education policy is an important document in the direction of developing a progressive human.”
The inauguration ceremony was conducted by Dr Sunil Kumar Agarwal, Associate Professor, at the Faculty of Commerce and the vote of thanks was given by Dr Ranvijay Dev, Head of the Department of Commerce.
