Kyiv, Feb 23: Ukraine is set to declare a state of emergency after Russia recognised the independence of two separatist-controlled districts in the country’s east and said that troops will be deployed there.
Ukraine’s security council on Wednesday has approved plans to declare a state of national emergency, in response to the growing threat of a Russian invasion, according to the reports of news agency AFP.
The policy, which excludes the crisis-stricken regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, would run for 30 days but may be extended.
