Patna, Jan 3: The effects of the third wave of coronavirus in Bihar have been observed to have increased. Several frontline workers including doctors and policemen have been infected. On Monday, six people that came to the public court (Janta Darbar) of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar were found to be Covid positive. The report of these people has come positive in the test conducted with the antigen kit before entering the Chief Minister’s room. On the other hand, the CM himself has complained of a sore throat. He said that he has been feeling like this since Monday morning. Notably, before entry into the CM’s public court, the corona examination of the complainants is done.
Former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi has expressed concern over the third wave of Corona. He has advised and expressed concern to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar regarding this through tweets. Manjhi also requested the CM that keeping in mind the increasing spread of Corona, CM Kumar should postpone the Janata Darbar for the time being. This will be an effective decision in the interest of the state, Manjhi had added.
Notably, the spread of coronavirus infection is increasing in the state. During the last 24 hours, 352 new infected patients have been found. Within a day, the infection has spread from 26 to 27 districts. The maximum number of new patients is in Patna district with 142 patients. 110 new positive cases have been found in Gaya district. In Munger and Jehanabad districts 13 new cases were registered in each district. The districts where five or more cases have been found include Jamui, Lakhisarai, Khagadia, Muzaffarpur and Saharsa. A steady increase has been observed in Covid cases in the last week. In other districts of Bihar, four cases were found in Aurangabad and Banka, one in Begusarai, three in Bhagalpur, two in Bhojpur, two in Darbhanga, one in Gopalganj, one in Kaimur, two in Madhubani, whereas two cases each have been registered in Nalanda and Nawada. Similarly, two infected have been found in Purnia, four in Samastipur, three in Saran, one in Sitamarhi, two in Siwan, one in Supaul, three in Vaishali and two in West Champaran.
