Patna, Feb 3: Former IPS Amitabh Kumar Das has made an allegation against the Superintendent of the Women’s Remand Home in Gai Ghat in the capital.

In a letter to the Bihar Governor Paghu Chauhan on Thursday, Das has alleged that girls from the remand home were supplied to many ministers in the Bihar government, which is why the state government is trying to hide the matter. This case is not being investigated properly. The Social Welfare Department of the government, in a jiffy, did its own investigation and released the report without even talking to the accuser or victim about the matter. The former IPS has also questioned the credibility of the report.

Das, in his letter, further demanded a CBI inquiry into the case. He, directly accusing the government and many of its ministers, has demanded the Governor order a CBI inquiry in the matter. For this, he has also cited the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home incident.

Notably, in case of the Muzaffarpur Shelter Home scandal, the then Minister of Social Welfare Department Manju Sinha had to resign.

Meanwhile, after the video of a victim in the women’s remand home case of Gai Ghat, an audio has now surfaced. This audio is of a conversation between Patna High Court lawyer Meenu Kumari, who deals with the cases of women’s remand home, and a girl from Patna district who was a resident in the remand home. In this audio, the girl is telling the lawyer that the video exposing the Remand Home and its practices is completely true. The girl has claimed that all allegations made against Superintendent Vandana Gupta are also true.

In the newly surfaced audio recording, the girl said that Gupta would forcefully get girls medicated and would invite men from outside the home. The girls living there were asked to have physical relations with the men. In the recording made during a telephonic conversation, the girl said that when Gupta had initially joined as a superintendent, several girls had opposed the antics of Gupta, but they were soon subdued by the management.

The girl further claimed that she was forcefully kept in the home even after turning 18 for six months. Upon protesting against this, she was sent to Muzzaffarpur on the pretext of work where she faced several problems.

According to the lawyer that the girl talked to, was a resident of the said remand home for about 5 years. She left a year and a half ago. The girl is a resident of Patna district, who was accused of killing her own mother over an affair and wanting to marry her then lover.
