Ranchi, Oct.17: The Jharkhand High Court sought information regarding engineers of the building construction department who have consolidated their positions in one place for more than three years.
The development took place during a hearing on the PIL filed for improving the security of the state courts. During the hearing, building construction secretary Sunil Kumar was also present in the court.
The division bench of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice S N Prasad building construction secretary was asked about the action taken against the junior engineer who defied the direction of the district judge of Ghatshila.
The court also inquired about the building of the Giridih Civil Court and said that even an engineer in Giridih did not give an accurate answer, what action was taken against him. The court also asked the secretary of the building construction department that the roof of the house of a judge of the High Court was breaking, what was done in that matter.
The next hearing of the case will be on November 7.
Earlier, during the hearing, the court was told on behalf of the state government that the height of the boundary wall of many civil courts of the state has been increased, as well as adequate arrangements have been made for security in the civil court.
On this, the court said that many works including boundary walls and building construction have not been done properly in the courts in many places.
During the previous hearing, the government had given information about the security arrangement of civil courts saying 1900 jawans are posted in the security of courts and judicial officers. Along with the service of retired soldiers from the army, the posting of JAP jawans is being considered.
A proposal for the same has been sent to the state government. CCTV cameras have been installed in Ranchi Civil Court. There is a plan to install CCTV cameras including the boundary wall of the courts.
