Jamshedpur, July 4: Though five days have elapsed since the former legislator Arvind Singh’s brother-in-law Kanhaiya Singh was gunned down at Adityapur, the police are yet to find out a clue about the assailants.
The police are clueless despite a special investigation team (SIT) was set up a day after the gruesome murder took place and assistance from the Jamshedpur police was solicited.
Concerned with the SIT not being able to unfold the mystery behind Kanhaiya Singh’s murder and assailants involved in it, the DIG, Kolhan, Ajay Linda on Monday came to the Adityapur police station and reviewed the progress in the murder investigation.
Having held a meeting with the SIT members and the Seraikela-Kharsawan SP Anand Prakash, the DIG instructed the SIT to expedite the investigation and report him about the progress every day until the case is not detected.
Sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Seraikela, Harvinder Singh who is heading the SIT said DIG has given essential directions for the investigation of the case.
“The Kanhaiya Singh murder is a blind case. We are still in complete dark about the reason behind it, the assailants involved and also about the probable angle. Now we will have to keep the DIG, Kolhan abreast with the daily progress report beside seeking his guidance in the murder investigation, ” said Singh.
The SDPO claimed to have sought technical support from the Jamshedpur police, something which can be a probable way to solve the case.
Kanhaiya Singh (52) who was a civil contractor was gunned down by three armed men at his apartment in Hari Om Nagar under the Adityapur thana area late on the June 29 night.
Kanhaiya had a bodyguard, but the gunshot attack was made on him soon after he had left him before entering his apartment that eventful night.
Meanwhile, the former legislator, Arvind Singh who is also a leading builder said that the murder of his brother-in-law is aimed at weakening him.
“The conspirator of Kanhaiya’s murder will be detected soon and will be given a befitting reply irrespective of what the police are doing to solve the case, ” said the former legislator.
