Patna: In a startling incident, the Magadh Express traveling from New Delhi to Islampur split into two after the coupling between two coaches broke in Bihar’s Buxar district on Sunday. The incident occurred around 11:08 am between the Twiniganj and Raghunathpur railway stations, officials confirmed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway, Sharswati Chandra, informed that the coupling failure caused the train to uncouple between coach S-7, the thirteenth from the engine, and coach S-6, the fourteenth. The train had just passed Twiniganj when the split occurred.
“A rescue team along with technical experts has already reached the site, and efforts are underway to resolve the issue quickly,” Chandra stated. The incident led to a temporary disruption of train traffic on the down line, though officials expect services to resume within an hour.
Authorities have confirmed that an inquiry will be conducted to determine the exact cause of the coupling failure. While train services are temporarily affected, efforts are being made to restore normal operations at the earliest.
