Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi made a post on social media on Tuesday morning, questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The post also contains a purported video of farmers being crushed by a jeep.
She tweeted, “Your government has kept me in detention for the last 28 hours without any order and FIR. The person who crushed the Annadata has not been arrested yet. Why?”
Notably, the police stopped them at 5:30 am on Monday morning at Hargaon in Sitapur and took them into custody. She has been kept in the guest house. Meanwhile, activists have gathered outside the guest house ever since Priyanka was taken into custody. There was a demonstration by lighting candles on Monday evening. From this morning too, they are raising slogans against the government demanding their release.
On the other hand, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the party general secretary, who was allegedly detained on her way to Lakhimpur Kheri, would not give up as she is a “True Congress leader”.
“The one who is kept in custody is not afraid, she is a true congress leader, and will not give up! Satyagraha will not stop,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted in Hindi.
