Ranchi, Jan.18: Jharkhand’s gangster Aman Shrivastava has developed sleeper cells across the country in the same way terrorists develop and thus a few arresting and recovery of some cash will hardly be of any help for the anti-terrorist squad of the state.
A police official in the Jharkhand capital shared the feeling after the anti-terrorist squad of Jharkhand police gave a heavy blow to Aman Shrivastava gang by simultaneously conducting raids at different locations of Shirvastava’s aide and relatives in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh besides Jharkhand.
“Information reaches to shooters passing through different layers to work in the direction of Aman Sahu, who is still at large. Thus, until the mastermind is finished getting rid of this professional gang is difficult. It is good that ATS is in action mode but more co-ordinated and smart moves are required to end the mastermind. The gang uses virtual calls to make extortion calls and sometimes it is difficult to trace the caller,” the police official said.
The police official said those arrested as Aman’s men are not known even to Aman directly.
“The situation is that even it is difficult for even Aman to identify who is committing crime on his instruction and how he is associated with him though the crime is being committed on his behalf,” the official added, expressing concern over the network of the gangster, who is still at large.
The official, who had arrested two men of Sahu in October last year from Palamu, was talking to lagatar24.com after the ATS arrested four and seized Rs 34 lakh cash besides arms, ammunition and vehicles from the possession of Aman’s aide and relatives.
The places where the raids were conducted included the residence of Prince Raj Shrivastava. Prince is cousin of Aman and has a residence at Kilburn Colony under Doranda police station area in the city heart. Here the ATS seized a revolver with six rounds of ammunition from the room of Prince’s bodyguard, Sanjay Karmakar. ATS here found that the revolver was licensed but ammunition being used was illegal.
Apart from this, the ATS team raided another location of the gang at Ambika Apartment under Lalpur police station and seized an amount of Rs 28.88 lakh. The apartment belongs to Sidhhartha Sahu, whom police have arrested.
Apart from this, the house of Vinod Kumar Pandey was raided at Jori in Chatra from where Rs 5.42 lakh was recovered and Pandey was arrested.
From Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, Firoz Khan was arrested with as many as six mobile phones. At Bengaluru, six mobile phones, a Pajero vehicle and a Mahindra SUV were seized while Manjri Shirvastava and Chandra Prakash Ranu were questioned regarding the whereabouts of Aman.
