Daltonganj, Mar 7: Palamu SP Chandan Kumar Sinha showed promptness and found solutions for three different cases to help the victims.
A woman named Shaheeda Khatoon today came with a Hindu woman to visit SP Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha complaining that her father-in-law is trying to throw her out of the house.
She had come along with a Hindu woman who stood for Shaheeda asking the SP to help her. She told the SP that Shaheeda is alone as her husband has deserted her. Now, her father-in-law wants her to be out of his house.
Taking immediate note of this case, the SP phoned the Rehla police directing it to help Shaheeda.
The SP told lagatar24.com that it is a case of 498 A of the IPC. The case is 4 years old. “Our police will see that Shaheeda does not become roofless,” he said.
The highlight of this case was that a woman of the Hindu community was concerned about the welfare of a Muslim woman in times like this when a chasm between the two communities is not getting shrunk anymore.
In another case, a retired Havaldar Ramanand Manjhi came before the SP telling him that his daughter Payal Kumari has got a job in Delhi police and her papers have come to his office here for her character verification.
He complained that his daughter’s papers are not being cleared by the SP office in over one week which will delay the process as the papers are to reach Delhi by March 14.
The SP immediately called up the general section assistant and got Payal Kumari’s paper cleared. He also asked his men to rush the hard copy to Delhi police by speed post.
The third case that the SP looked after was the one where despite the promulgation of section 144 of the CrPc, one party tried to seek help from the police which was firmly spurned by the SP warning this party not to take liberty with law.
The SP said that land dispute cases come quite thick in numbers. The next is marital discord cases. Police try to play a role as prescribed within the parameters of the law.
